Aside from being heavily featured in marketing for The Old Republic game and overarching story line(s) of the same era, a novel with him at the center was published and in-universe pages from a war campaign journal were featured in the ' Book of Sith' as part of a compilation of sampled writings from various darksiders as collated by Emperor Palpatine (shortly before Disney bought the franchise). Any thoughts on the character? Criticisms of - or resonance with - his tactics, personality, temperament, failings, strong points, etc. or his overall story arc, the ups and downs, feats, achievements, choices made, or challenges overcome?

I remember reading the novel "Deceived" inwhich he is one of the main characters. In the beginning of the novel he is vary protective of his twilek slave. As the novel reaches its end however he realize that she is his biggest weakness and kills her on his own terms so no one could hold her against him. I found it interesting how he had forsaken something he cared about in order to reach a high level of power. Darth Malgus had shown the lengths to which he would go to insure his victory. Pushing aside love and pleasure for his main goal. I found home him to be a good representation of sith ideology and consider him to be one of the better developed characters in star wars lore.

That level of sacrifice is an interesting thing which echoes through the Empire. I’ve become rather fond of Darth Malgus, since I’ve been learning about him. Power requires sacrifice is what I get from the story and from life outside the mythos as well.
