Shaolin Meditation
I have noticed that a lot of meditation going around these days is pretty much snake oil. If you think about it, how easy is it to create fake meditation programs? I actually heard this line in a yoga class once "--- and remember to let your anus blossom". How would you really know if your meditation isn't good enough? What promises does meditation make for you to grade and judge it? Where is that list. Its strangely absent other than a little feel good and the distance promise of enlightenment right?
Anyone who isn't breathing properly will feel a little high and relaxed when they take some time to breath properly so it feels great immediately. What else does meditation do for you? Calm your mind a bit? Thats pretty junior-level stuff. I prefer to solve my problems instead of obsessing over them. Nothing takes the edge off like victory but whatever. So you feel a little good and you don't feel so bad. Other than that, what is meditation?
I learned meditation from old shaolin methods used before communist china burned down the temples.
Those teachings clearly state that meditation is about controlling your state of being. It is equally physical, emotional, and mental. All of these united and synchronized. Like the atoms in a razor blade, all aligned into a single perfect edge. It is learning to achieve energetic states of being which fully unlock and develop our abilities.
My teachers said that only beginners meditate in a sitting position or with their eyes closed. Meditation is supposed to give us power and control. Meditation should look more Darth Maul than Qui-Gon Jinn. No wonder Qui-Gon got taken out by an apprentice. His leg probably fell asleep while the rest of him was... Falling asleep.
Meditation should be invigorating and bursting with life.
Anyway. I have a lot of training in this and I could rant for days.
