What does power mean to you?
Is it based in control through fear?
Is it based in coercion through manipulation?
Is it based on brute force through threat of physical violence?
Or, as a Sith, is there another option?

Very good, my Friend. It seems only the most outcast of us understand the meaning of power the most. hmmm wonder why that is? Likely because I had to walk the entire path alone, without anyone holding my hand and I needed power to survive the life I've chosen for myself. |

I think power comes from lack of fear, and all fear is based in pain.
No fear of pain means no fear at all, which means power over one's own life.

Fear is an instinctual defence mechanism designed for self preservation due to the threat of danger or discomfort. One can never get rid of fear but it can be controlled and made to work for them instead of against them. This control does not come from power. it comes from strength. and using this combination to create action is what creates power. |

Reminds me of something I ran across in a sith roleplay server I was on. My methods vary and depends on what the steps are that need to be done to get what I want. I just ask nicely with no manipulation, brute force, or control. People vibe off of me because I'm a powerful person and people recognize that. |

One step further even, perception of threat... ridicule, embarrassment, failure. Threat of failure is not based in pain. You see fear is not based in pain at all. Secondly do you have those articles backed up, because id like to use some of those for my site due to them having merit. I'm wanting to gather more worthy writings to add to my site. Since I don't want to pay money for a site as that can be expensive I made a thing on free forums. It's free and will stay there. |

That does not make sense because by definition we can never know what "the unknown" contains. It may contain pain, but it may also contain pleasure. So now it becomes something one irrationally fears, something not based in pain, simply the loss of comfort. That's my point. If you dont know something you cant also assign it attributes.

I don't disagree. Some fear the unknown, and others look forward to it. My point is simply that those who fear the unknown are fearing the pain/suffering/discomfort/etc. it may bring. There is no other reason to fear. |
